We
are just days away from the start of Camp (Re)Generation, and we are excited!
First
and foremost, I want to ensure that all of our District family is surrounding
this event in Prayer. This weekend will be a time where students get away
from their normal routine and step into God's presence. Countless lives have
been impacted because of the way God spoke to them at a camp and we want this
camp to be no different. Our theme this year is profound - we are coming to
God with the desire to let Him (Re)generate our lives and take away all the
aspects that get in the way. It also stands for us becoming this
(Re)Generation, that is bringing that message to the people around us. So
join with us in prayer that above all else students will encounter the God of
the Universe and allow Him to make us the (Re)Generation.
Secondly,
I want to encourage any churches who still may have people interested in
signing up that it is NOT TOO LATE. Jump on this band wagon and get those
last few students to camp!!

The
recent shootings in Colorado have left many feeling uncertain and afraid. The
television stations have been covering the massacre in great detail. The
images of people mourning the loss of loved ones and innocent people
suffering from gunshot wounds are etched deeply on our minds. Many of our
children and teenagers have seen the headlines and are silently wrestling with
the unsettling feelings that come from unanswered questions. Why do random
acts of evil happen, and why does God allow it? Am I safe, and how should I
make sense of my world? Questions like these leave parents and ministry
workers wondering what to say and how to nurture their kids in a time when
they too are wrestling with the same questions.
Because of this, SDMI and The Discipleship Place have put together a webinar opportunity with Rev. Rick Underwood, LPC, MHSP, NCC, and would invite you to join us on Friday, July 27, at 11:45 am (CDT). Rick is a Licensed Professional Counselor, Mental Health Service Provider, and Director of Journey Counseling Center at Trevecca Community Church of the Nazarene in Nashville, Tennessee. Before pursuing formal clinical counseling, Rick and his wife, Donna, served as youth pastors and university pastors in Florida and Tennessee. Rick’s unique perspective of youth and university ministries, along with his formal clinical experience, will be very beneficial as we discuss ways to help our children and teenagers through this time. Click here to register for this webinar, and feel free to contact us by email at DiscipleshipPlace@nazarene.org or by phone at 888-243-2767 with any questions. The
latest Manna House quarterly newsletter is available for
your review. Many people were prayed for and Bibles distributed to
those requesting one.
Anyone
with large print King James Bible (New or Used) and would like to donate
them to Manna House, we can use them. We have requests all the time, but
don't have the large print available.
You
can see from our report that many people are helped thru Manna House and
God has blessed in so many ways.
Our motto is: To
God be the Glory
