Dear NEO family,

Summer has arrived in NEO! Although I complain about the heat we have been experiencing, one thing I love about summer is church camps for kids and youth. My life, and thousands of others, have been greatly impacted by God through camps. Director Linda Holland reports that we already have 228 kids registered for Kidz Kamp.  PTL!  If you haven’t registered your kids and grandkids, there is still time.

Who: Kamp is for children who have completed the first through the sixth grade.

Where: Sky Ranch at Cave Springs, Ok

When: Friday, July 13 through Monday, July 16, 2012

Cost: Early Bird registration $175 (includes snacks) Late registration $195 (after June 28)

Deadline for Registration: All registrations must be postmarked by June 28, 2012. After June 28 you must pay late fees.

The speaker this year is Beckie Richburg.  Remedy from SNU will be doing our music and fun activities.  Our theme is "Training Kamp", "Run in such a way as to get the prize." I Cor. 9:24.  We are putting on the armor of God to enable us to win the prize.

All forms are posted on our website, www.neonaz.com.

Youth Camp 2012

A message from Dustin Wine: I hope all of our churches are promoting Camp *(Re)Generation to your students because it is going to be a fantastic weekend. And if you are wondering why you should send your students, I'll give you 5 good reasons and one made-up reason:

6. A kiddie pool filled with oatmeal
5. Every person who comes to camp receives a cardboard cut-out of me
4. Our band, Same State, and our speaker, Blair Spindle, are awesome
3. We will have a Giant Fire (emphasis on Giant)
2. It will be a great chance for your students to hang out with a bunch of district students
1. God will be there!!

So I hope you guys continue to promote it and get your students pumped up for camp!

News from the District

Pastor Jason Powers had a very positive review at Tahlequah. The church is reaching many new people and is full of hope for the future.

Pastor Steve Brown, a recent graduate of Nazarene Bible College, has been unanimously called to pastor the Cleveland Church.

Family Church and Broken Arrow First are both prayerfully seeking direction from God for their next lead pastors. I keep this verse on my desk: “Show me your ways, O Lord; teach my your paths. Guide me in your truth and teach me; for you are God, my Savior and my hope is in you all day long.” Join me in praying for guidance and direction for the church boards of these churches and the candidates with which they are in dialogue.

Michael English and Steve Ladd will be in concert at Claremore Church on July 15, 6pm.

I Want to Celebrate. . .

David Stevens, Vinita. . .   It is an honor and a joy to serve the Lord and the Church of the Nazarene. The Sunday Morning prayer at 9AM has made a difference in the Church. The ‘atmosphere’ of the services just seems different.

Bill Hilton, Tulsa Living Hope. . . Our June SS increased by 71% over last June, and our June worship was 63% higher.

Don Engie, Grove Lakewood Community. . . We have new people coming who are now going out – sharing Christ- and bringing new people. We have begun to see the beginning fruit of what God is doing here. One of the new families - both parents have come to Christ here the past few months – are excited to become more of a part of what God is doing here. The husband, who a few months ago was completely against church and Christians, is now following Christ and wanting to help us organize a Car and Bike show to connect with the community! Pray that God would help us- by His Grace- to be a church that is faithful to the message and obedient to the mission. Thank you for your prayers and support.

Mark Hiehle, Claremore. . . As we focus on the Great Commission, the church was asked to list three names of people on a card that need Salvation and who they want to help lead to the Lord.  Those names were also placed on the altar and added to our weekly prayer list used on Wednesday nights.  As each person prays for those they listed, the church is joining them as we are praying for 153 people… and counting.  We are asking God for opportunities to present the gospel to them and that they will receive Him.

Brad Farnsworth, Tulsa Connection. . . Day Camp for Kids with Garnett Church at Green Country Event Center was highly successful.

Tim Odom, Collinsville. . . Had VBS and had a great time with 17 accepting Christ in their hearts!

Scottie Behm, Chelsea. . . We had a wonderful Father’s Day service with a great sticky message, Christian dads are like a Reese’s Peanut Butter cup and duct tape.  We enjoyed the Annual District Assembly and took home the message that we should first focus on our little church (our family).  I praise God for my little church, and ask His continued blessing in each of our families and homes.

John Hazelton, Horton Chapel. . . What we believe as a church.  We are initiating a new beginning for an older church.
