Lessons
from Life
|
Sunday
I had the privilege to install Pastor
Ken Pell as Pastor of Broken
Arrow First Church. Ken and Vickie have previously served in
NEO at Tulsa Faith and Miami and it was good to welcome them home. Ken
preached a great message, “Lessons From Life”, sharing five principles that
define for him what it means to be a Christian and what it means to do
ministry:
1. God
did not call me to be comfortable, but to be faithful.
2. What
God’s Word says you must do God knows you can do.
3. The
resurrection changes everything.
4. When
you gave your life to Christ you gave it to the world.
5. Change
is inevitable; growth is optional.
What
are your life principles?

The
Oklahoma Districts of the Church of the Nazarene have begun the process of
organizing a Disaster Relief program. This program is in its infancy
and to get started, Brian Loderhose has coordinated with the Baptist Disaster
Relief to bring their chain saw trailer to Broken Arrow and give us a tour as
well as instruction. We will meet at 8:30am, cut a few small trees on
our District property at Albany street east of Lynn Lane, organize, and talk
about our own trailer and the opportunity to help others.
If
you can be a part of this training Saturday or have questions, email or call Brian (918)
520-1361. Bring gloves, wear boots, and dress appropriately for the
weather.

The
USA/Canada Regional Office announced that Kansas City, Missouri, will host Mission 2015 (M15),
the region's mid-quadrennial conference. M15 is the region's largest
all-church gathering between general assemblies and will take place February 9 through 11, 2015.
The conference theme, "Honoring
the Past, Shaping the Future," will set the
trajectory for the event.
M15 planners would like the input of pastors, church leaders, educators, and laity as they begin preparation for the conference. A brief M15 survey can be accessed online or through the M15 Facebook site. |

Farnsworth, Broken Arrow Core Church at Aspen Creek. . .
We had 30 first-time visitors this month. We had an average of 119 people
involved in 8 small groups on Sunday and Wednesday nights, and 100 average in
our Celebrate Recovery on Saturday nights.
Curtis
Martin, Mannford. . . A group of men from the
Sapulpa Church came to Mannford last Saturday and worked all day with our
men, framing out the inside of our new Outreach Center! Thanks to
Pastor Steve Davis, David, Tim, and Jonathan Keiffer, Drew Whittaker and Nick
Bush for their expertise and efforts. It was AWESOME!!! The
Mannford women prepared a delicious meal at noon. We are Blessed!
David
Stevens, Vinita. . . A year ago I was celebrating the
calling of one of our young men into the ministry. He has grown tremendously
and has been used tremendously by the Lord. This year I celebrate that God
has provided for a Youth Pastor and a Children’s Pastor. Our attendance
averages are on track to reach new average highs, at least since the Stevens
have been Pastor, and our budgets are paid. God is good.
Steven
Lester, Tulsa Central. . . We received 32 new
members this month!
Otoniel
Dannemann, Tulsa Fuente de Vida. . . We opened 3 new
evangelistic homes with Bible studies, and a family of 8 received Jesus as
their Savior, 2 more received Jesus in their hearts and 6 took a
reconciliation. We praise the Lord because this month the glory of God
was with Fuente de Vida.
Saul
Ramirez, Fe y Esperanza. . . Our members are growing
in their commitment with worship through tithing.
Scottie
Behm, Chelsea. . . The sharing of a fullness of the
spirit personal witness about how the Holy Spirit was at work in giving that
person their personal testimony. We started a new member orientation and
discipleship class for a couple.
Yalmi
and Norma Izaguirre, Regency Park Hispanic. . .
This month we received two new families and our attendance is growing.
We praise the Lord!
Casey
Hollingsworth, Miami New Life. . . Our college
ministry "The Well" is making a difference! Had several more
college age students attend our last event. Most in attendance came
forward at the end of the service in response to the spoken message. We
trust that the Holy Spirit will continue to empower this outreach ministry!
The
Northwest Zone
Pastors enjoyed an evening together. What a fun group!
